3GAS+ Square gas alarm - 12 V gas detector for motorhomes, campers & caravans

The 3GAS+ Square (K50001) is a compact, professional 12 V/24 V gas alarm for motorhomes, campervans, caravans and boats.
It was specially developed for mobile use and provides reliable protection against liquefied gases and narcotic gases in the vehicle interior.

Why a gas alarm in a motorhome makes sense

Leaking gas pipes, defective appliances or loose connections can cause dangerous gas concentrations to build up unnoticed. This poses a considerable risk, especially at night.

The 3GAS+ Square continuously monitors the ambient air and provides an early warning before gases become a danger.

Which gases does the 3GAS+ Square detect?

Without an additional sensor, the 3GAS+ Square detects

• Propane
• butane
• Ether / VOCs (narcotic gases)

These gases can be explosive or - in the case of certain VOCs - have an anaesthetic effect in high concentrations.

⚠️ Carbon monoxide (CO)

Carbon monoxide is only detected in conjunction with the optional CO sensor (K50003).
The 3GAS+ Square (K50001) alone is not a CO detector.

Modularly expandable - ideal for campers & larger vehicles

The big advantage of the 3GAS+ Square is its modular sensor system:

• Extra sensor (K50002)
  Additional gas monitoring at another position in the vehicle
• Extra CO sensor (K50003)
  Necessary for detecting carbon monoxide (CO), e.g. in gas heaters, boilers or in the sleeping area

For optimum gas monitoring, it is recommended to work with two sensors (base unit + additional sensor).

Installation & mounting recommendation

• Connection to the vehicle's 12 V or 24 V on-board voltage
• The 3GAS+ Square should be mounted approx. 30 cm above the ground
  (ideal for sinking gases such as propane and butane)

Recommended installation with additional sensor:

• Base unit: approx. 30 cm above the floor
• Optional additional sensor:
  At least 1.5 m above the floor and approx. 20 cm below the ceiling
  (ideal for rising gases)

This combination ensures particularly reliable gas monitoring throughout the entire interior.

Function test & maintenance

To ensure fault-free operation, the ambient air must not contain any environmentally harmful gases.
The functionality should be checked regularly.

How to test the gas alarm:

1. Switch on the device and wait for the self-test
2. The green LED lights up continuously → Device ready for operation
3. Hold a gas lighter without a flame to the side of the openings
4. After a few seconds, the 40-second pre-alarmstarts
5. If gas continues to enter, the continuous alarmfollows

As soon as there is no more gas concentration, the device automatically switches back to standby.
