Rear door lock for Fiat Ducato

The rear door lock for the Fiat Ducato from model year 06 is a useful accessory for motorhomes and camping vehicles of the "panel van" type.

It provides an additional door lock that extends the protection of the Prickstop even further.

How the rear door lock works

The rear door lock is attached to the screws for the door lock latch. This provides a stable connection to the most solid part of the rear door. The solid 6 mm steel splint connects the two halves of the lock and prevents the doors from being opened from the outside.

Even if a burglar has picked the lock, he cannot open the door.

Prickstop or rear door locking system?

A sensible security concept needs both!

Prickstop prevents the door from being pricked and the central locking system from being triggered. However, there are other ways of forcing the lock open.

The rear door locking system should therefore be part of the security concept for your motorhome. It is also inexpensive and easy to install.

You need approx. 3 cm of space between the door and any wall units to install the rear door lock. Please check in advance.

How the rear door lock works

The rear door lock is mounted to the screws of the door lock striker, connecting it to one of the strongest points on the rear door. A solid 6 mm steel pin links the two locking halves and blocks the doors from being opened from the outside.

Result: Even if a burglar forces the original lock, the rear door cannot simply be pulled open.

Prickstop or rear door lock?

A sensible security concept combines both.

Prickstop protects against the Prick Attack (the door skin is punctured locally and the linkage/central locking is manipulated). However, there are other attack methods where the lock itself is forced open.

This is exactly where the rear door lock complements your setup: it is affordable, maintenance-free and easy to install – and noticeably increases rear door security.
