Which doors should I secure on a campervan?
On a campervan, the driver’s door and – depending on the configuration – also the rear doors are particularly important. The best combination depends on the installed locks and doors – the quickest way to find the right setup is by using the burglary protection configurator.
Do I also need Prickstop on the passenger door?
No. On the passenger door of the Fiat Ducato (and equivalent models), there is never a lock cylinder installed. Prickstop protection plates only make sense where there is a lock cylinder – because only there can the puncture method reach the mechanism behind the door skin. For additional protection, the driver’s door, passenger door and also the sliding door can be fitted with Heosafe additional locks.
Are the rear doors also relevant on a campervan?
Yes – depending on the configuration. A Prickstop protection plate on the rear door is useful if a lock cylinder is installed there. For additional security beyond the basic protection of the plate, there is also a rear door lock that secures the rear doors separately. The burglary protection configurator helps you choose the right solution.
Do I need a protection plate on the sliding door?
No. On the sliding door of the Fiat Ducato (and equivalent models), there is never a lock cylinder installed – therefore a Prickstop protection plate is never necessary there. As an additional measure, however, the sliding door can be secured with a Heosafe additional lock.
What is Prickstop and how does it work?
On many Ducato-based vehicles and equivalent models, the lock area is sometimes not forced in the classic way. Instead, the door skin near the lock cylinder is punctured in order to manipulate the central locking mechanism behind it. Prickstop protects exactly against this method: an additional 1.5 mm stainless steel plate reinforces the lock area and makes puncturing it significantly more difficult.
Which base vehicles is Prickstop suitable for?
Prickstop fits vehicles based on the Fiat Ducato from model year 2006 onwards and equivalent platforms, such as Peugeot Boxer, Citroën Jumper/Relay and Opel Movano (from model year 2021).
