The 3GAS+ Extra Sensor (K50002) is an optional additional sensor for the 3GAS+ alarm system and is used to extend gas monitoring in the vehicle interior. It is operated exclusively in combination with a 3GAS+ base unit and enables an additional measuring position in the vehicle.

Ideal for larger motorhomes, campervans, caravans or vehicles with separate areas.

What is the 3GAS+ Extra sensor used for?

Gases behave differently depending on their type: some sink to the ground, others rise to the top. It is therefore not always possible to optimally monitor all areas of a vehicle with just one measuring position.

The 3GAS+ Extra Sensor supplements the basic unit with an additional measuring point and thus improves the early detection of dangerous gas concentrations in the entire passenger compartment.

Which gases does the Extra Sensor detect?

In conjunction with the 3GAS+ base unit, the Extra Sensor detects

  • Propane
  • butane
  • Ether / VOCs (narcotic gases)

Important: The Extra Sensor K50002 is not a CO sensor and does not detect carbon monoxide (CO). The separate CO sensor K50003 is required for CO detection.

Recommended mounting position

The Extra Sensor is typically installed in the upper area of the vehicle and thus complements the base unit installed close to the ground.

  • At least 1.5 m above the floor
  • Approx. 20 cm below the ceiling

This position is particularly suitable for detecting rising gases and, in combination with the base unit, ensures comprehensive gas monitoring.

Integration into the 3GAS+ system

  • Operation only in conjunction with a 3GAS+ base unit
  • Automatic integration into the existing alarm system
  • Alarms are triggered via the base unit

For optimum use of the 3GAS+ system, it is generally recommended to work with at least two sensors.
