🔒 Why protection plates at all?

In the so-called Prick Attack, the lock is not “picked”; instead, the door skin near the lock cylinder is punctured to manipulate the linkage of the central locking behind it. This is exactly where Prickstop protection plates come in: they reinforce the critical area and make this attack more difficult or prevent it. Learn more in the guide.

👉 Important: driver door yes – passenger door no

A protection plate is useful and recommended on the driver’s door because that is where the relevant weak point is located. No Prickstop is required on the passenger door.

🚪 Rear door: protection plate only with lock cylinder

For the rear door: a protection plate is only useful/necessary if there is also a lock cylinder on the rear door (only then is the relevant linkage located there). Many campers have no lock cylinder on the rear door – in that case, a protection plate is usually not needed.
